Purpose: To promote, stimulate, and activate a strong National Security Program within the Unit and community.
Rules: 1. Any Unit in the Department of Arizona may receive one of these awards in their membership classification.
2. Either plaque shall become the permanent property of the Unit winning it for three consecutive years. The Unit winner will place another plaque in the Department competition, rules and name remaining the same.
3. A committee of three shall judge entries prior to the department convention, judges being the Department National Security Chairman, donor if possible, and/or former National Security Chairman.
4. Entry must be in narrative typewritten form not to exceed 1,000 words and include with Department report by deadline date
Basis for awards are:
All around National Security program as outlined by the National organization for current year. 50% Unit participation in Savings Bond program 5% Unit contribution to USO 5% Unit program on Law and Order 5% Unit program on Armed Forces 5% Unit activities on POW/MIA program 5% Legislative activities pertaining to National Security, as endorsed by the American Legion 5% Unit National Security Forum (Awareness Assembly) 10% Unit Forum/Assembly with Post and public participating 10%

This plaque will be a traveling award to be passed on each year.
If any Unit should win the plaque three consecutive years, they may retain it, but would be required to place another plaque of like size and wording in the field.

Arrangement and neatness 20%
Energy forum 15%
Junior participation 15%
