Marie Townshend Plaque

 

To be awarded by the Department Poppy Chairman.

The purpose of this award is to stimulate interest and activity in a well rounded program in the usage of the Poppy.

 

Any Unit in the Department of Arizona may compete for this award. Provided the Unit complies with the following provisions:

 

  1. The Unit orders a minimum of 100 poppies by Oct 31 of the year entering competition.
  2. A written (typewriter or computer, no handwritten allowed) narrative report of not more than 1,000 words listing the usage of poppies on a year round basis. This narrative must be written month to month for the year entering competition. This narrative must be forwarded at the time of the annual Poppy Report.
  3. The Unit annual Poppy report is forwarded to the Department Chairman by the deadline date.
  4. The Unit deadline date is May 15th, 2007 for the receipt of these by the Department Chairman to leave time to judge fairly.

 

The judging of the annual report and the narrative will be by three auxiliary members selected randomly.  These auxiliary members will be appointed by the Department Chairman and will meet prior to Department Convention.

 

This award shall become the permanent property of any Unit that wins it for three consecutive years. The permanent winner must place another plaque in the Department competition, rules and name shall remain the same.
