National Poppy Corsage Contest

The Poppy Corsage Contest at the Awareness Assembly is continuing again this year. American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona may submit 12 entries. Each corsage should have the name of the creators, their Unit and Department. Attendees will cast a vote for $1.00 and the proceeds will go to the Creative Arts Festival. The winning corsages will be used at Girls Nation.

I would personally suggest using 2 to 5 poppies depending on the size. It would also be recommended to use other small flowers and colors that compliment the poppy. These could be red, white and blue standing for patriotism or any other combinations of colors attractive with our red poppy. Be creative and think about other small additions. A flag, a jewel, a Memorial Cross and star of David, Auxiliary pin, buttons and many other items could compliment these poppies in your corsage. You could use wire and floral tape to break down carnations along with other flowers that are hard to get in small sizes.

These corsages should be into the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona by the end of February 2007.

Please enter this contest as I will be doing small personal awards for entries.
